Step: 1
Sign in to the AWS Management Console with your root account. (only root users)
Step: 2
Go to Billing and Cost Management.
Step: 3
In the left menu, click Account settings.
Step: 4
Scroll down and select Close Account.
Step: 5
Confirm by selecting the checkbox and clicking Close Account.
Your account will close, but AWS keeps your data for 90 days in case you need to reopen it.
